Woodware Challenge – Shaker Cards – Day 4

Over on the Woodware blog the theme this week is Shaker cards and they have been very varied as usual. I like shaker cards, but don’t find them easy to put together as I think that being neat is a great asset when making them, and is not one of my strong points so I have cheated!

I have used Jane’s Clear Magic single Fiona named after Fi that hides in the Woodware office keeping everything on track. I stamped with Night Crafters and then coloured on top with Aruba  and Sweat Pea Crafters. I love Crafters ink it is permanent when heat set on most surfaces, but I have coloured on top with out setting it and before it had time to dry properly, this has meant the my black ink has smudged slightly, not something that I would normally want but has given a nice shabby look, I did intend to do it like that! As used the ColorBox Stylus tool to add the colour.

For my shaker I punched out the blue circle punch then stamped it with centre of the Fiona stamp. Then coloured it with the crafters ink.

The circle is a perfect fit for the Metal Pendants.

3

Because they are pendants they have 2 holes for adding thing, I put some Glossy Accents in the holes and left it to dry.

6

I cut some acetate and put another punched circle underneath it. Then put a mixture of glitter from the Frantage Encrusted Jewel Purple Kit in the centre.

14

I used the circle as a guide and made a circle of Glossy Accents, then put the pendant on top. Leave this to dry, you can tell that the glue has dried when it goes completely clear. The trim the acetate really closely to the pendant.

13

I have done two, the one with the fine glitter has not worked as well, but only because my acetate was static-y on the inside, it all stayed inside.

7

I have added a magnet to the back of the pendant.

and a magnet to the back of the cut out flower which I have stuck on the card.

10

the card even looks good with out the magnet.

Apart from the glue drying time this is a quick shaker card to make!

Thanks for visiting see you soon.
