Woodware Challenge – What a Wonderful World! – Day 6

Here we are at the end of the Wonderful World week I hope that you have enjoyed our take on a wonderful world, and thank you again to Janet from Japonica who set the theme for us.

Today you should be looking at a card from Francoise, but after her debut on TV this week she has gone off with Jill from the Stampman to The Great British Craft Fair this weekend so you have got me again….

But first…

What a Wonderful World

I see trees of green…….. red roses too
I see em bloom….. for me and for you
And I think to myself…. what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue….. clouds of white
Bright blessed days….dark sacred nights

And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow…..so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces…..of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands…..sayin.. how do you do
They’re really sayin……i love you.

I hear babies cry…… I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more…..than I’ll never know

And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world

Are there on the faces…..of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands…..sayin.. how do you do
They’re really sayin……I ….love….you.

I hear babies cry…… I watch them grow
you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than I’ll never know

And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself …….what a wonderful world.

So because Francoise is my friend and what would the world be without friends?

This is one a Francoise’s Huge Words Friend  is a Clear Magic Single, I have done some very simple paper piecing on this card.

First I stamped out Friend in Wicked Black  Archival Ink Then I filled in the open space with the Define it Jumbo Rollagraph wheel and the Coal Black Ancient Page ink cartridge

Then I used the Blank Wheel as a brayer, this I deliberately made messy, honestly! I didn’t use a cartridge this time I used a Dye ink pad in Blueberry

For the pink I used a Crafters Ink in Sweet Pea.

I cut around the blue Friend then I coloured the ‘I’ with the blue Glaze Pen.

I cut around some o the pink letters and then coloured them with the Clear Star pen to make them sparkle.

I had to have ribbon on this card in homage to Francoise, so I used one of the new bows from Craft Work Cards. They are die cuts that you pop out and fold to make the bow. I popped a foam pad in the folded part so that they would not be squashed flat.

I tied a ribbon around to finish off the bow, I think these are very cute little bows, and simple to use.

I hope that you have enjoyed our Wonderful Week and thank you again to Janet for the choice.

Thank you for visiting today pop see you soon, and if you are in the south pop in to see Janet at Japonica you may even bump into Jane or Crafty Debs.
See you soon!

  1. How clever to make your own matching paper to the background of your design, but in a different colour to use for paper piecing. Those new bows look interesting. Some arrived yesterday for the shop – I’ll have to take a closer look.
